
About the Ingredients
Cassava
One of the most important and flexible ingredient of Brazil. It is used as a flour for making farofa (sort of breadcrumbs eaten with rice and beans), as a powder on the tapioca (Brazilian crepe) or can be cooked and used on Bobo (shrimp stew), Escondinho ( Brazilian jerk beef version of Shepard’s Pie) or deep fried and served on the bars.
Corn
Brought by the Portuguese, the corn is used for a lot of recipes, sweet or savory one. Here are some examples: Corn Ice Cream, Creamed corn, Curau (sweet corn pudding), Pamonha (corn cake)
Peanuts
Peanuts are one of the best foods to eat along with a cold beer. Besides that, there are a lot of Brazilian dished that has peanuts, such as: Pacoca (candy), pe de moleque (another traditional candy) and Peanut liqueur.
Fishes and Sea food
With almost 7,5 thousand kilometers of coast line, Brazil has a wide choice of fishes and sea food
Meat
One of the symbols of Brazil is the barbecue, which originally was done using skewers to place the meat over the fire or charcoal.
